TCAT is an in-depth traffic crash analysis tool for the detailed study of traffic crashes in the state of Michigan.  TCAT provides the following traffic crash analysis tools:

• Narrative crash reports
• Collision diagrams - graphical drawing of crashes at intersections
• GIS mapping of crashes

Each of the tools listed above is itself a full featured program providing the TCAT user many advanced features to allow for in-depth traffic crash analysis.

TCAT traffic crash data is provided by the state of Michigan, which is compiled from the Michigan Traffic Crash Report (UD-10) submitted by statewide law enforcement agencies.  TCAT crash data is available for the entire state of Michigan and contains data from the year 2000 to the present.  TCAT data is updated from the state on a weekly basis assuring that users of this system will be provided timely crash data.

TCAT Crash Reports: Below is a synopsis of all reports currently available on the TCAT system.  (Click on the report name to link to the actual report) Users have the ability to export all reports to an Excel spreadsheet format or print each report to a PDF document.

Intersection Crash Report: Summary of each traffic crash at a selected intersection along with the ability to create a collision diagram and GIS mapping of these crashes (state-wide data available).  User has the ability to request reports based on extensive filtering of specific crash data.

Link Crash Report: Summary of each traffic crash on a user-selected road segment along with the ability to map these crashes (state-wide data available).  User has the ability to request reports based on extensive filtering of specific crash data.

Community Crash Report: Summary of each traffic crash within a selected county or community within the selected county.  User has the ability to request reports based on extensive filtering of specific crash data.

Intersection Ranking Report: Ranking report of major intersections within a selected community. User has the ability to request reports based on extensive filtering of specific crash data.

Intersection Ranking Weighted Report: Ranking report of major intersections within a selected community weighted by crash frequency, injury severity, and crash rate (TIA member communities only at this time).  User has the ability to request reports based on extensive filtering of specific crash data.

Link Ranking Report: Ranking report of major road segments within a selected community (TIA member communities only at this time).  User has the ability to request reports based on extensive filtering of specific crash data.

Link Ranking Weighted Report: Ranking report of major road segments in a community weighted by crash frequency, injury severity, and crash rate (TIA member communities only at this time).  User has the ability to request reports based on extensive filtering of specific crash data.

Monthly Crash Summary Report: Summary breakdown of traffic crashes by injury and occupants by injury for user-selected county or community within the selected county.
